I’m curious and am trying to guess. What WordPress Forum Plugin is used for freecloudhost? I’m guessing bbpress?

This is my first experience of joining a WordPress Forum. It’s not that bad so far once I had figured out it was WordPress. Prior to that I was searching for where to register. But once I knew it was WordPress, it was easy from that point forwards. Perhas you could think of posting the registration link in the post at Gigarocket – or maybe you have already and I missed it?

    Hey Genesis,

That is interesting but this bores seems very classical and not the best interface. Is there more then bbpress that could boost a bit more the experience?

Like for example be able to like and reply just quoting like it use to be done on giga even the addition of polls?

Since you were there you might know what is some additional things vinil could try here.

I initially thought of going for another forum plugin for wordpress other than bbpress. But I am not so sure whether other forum plugins will last as long or be there in the future.

@kreesher Agreed. I think I’m looking for structure myself. The different elements of the BBPress Forum seem to be scattered all over the place and some times the advertisements are in the way. It takes some getting used to.

On the other hand, it must have been the easiest and quickest way for Binil to set up a Forum with the least amount of support needed. If one would have chosen myBB or another Forum it would have taken ages to set up, and loads of time to support. Maybe if we could get more interested members to join, he could try something different later. But for now, as long as the advertising works well, maybe it is OK.

BTW there is an excellent discussion going on at post4vps.com regarding alternatives to BBPress. @Binil, if you are interested you can check it out here:

I had to set everything up as fast as I can. I know that bbress may not be the best forum plugin for wordpress, but its been there for ages and its not likely for Automattic to stop its support.

I had initially thought of using wpForo or Asgaros Forum plugin. And as I told earlier, I am not sure how well these will last further into the future.

I know you did this to help everyone from the previous service. For that I am always thankful.
The feedback I give above was in order to be implemented slowly when you have time to make more engagement 🙂 So far bbpress is doing the deal and the more it comes the better for the forum.

I too hope that bbpress evolves along with wordpress.
